What Yesim says about its China eSIM
Yesim’s China page says a plan must be activated within 90 days of purchase and that validity starts when the eSIM connects to a compatible network. The QR code works for one phone only, and the eSIM can sit alongside your regular SIM. Hotspot is marked as available. Speeds can be limited under the network operator’s fair-use policy.
The page also advertises a built-in VPN. That is the provider’s own claim, not something we confirmed from inside China, so keep an offline plan for anything you cannot afford to lose access to.
Which Yesim plan fits
The plans run from 1 to 30 days, with fixed data of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, 30 GB. Match the validity to the days you are actually in China, not to the length of the whole trip.
A fixed plan is easier to control: when the data is gone you know it. An unlimited plan avoids that moment but slows down after its high-speed allowance, which matters for video calls. If you mostly use maps and messages, the smaller fixed plans usually cover it; the estimator on the home page gives a planning range.
Questions before you go
Does Yesim give me a Chinese phone number?
No. The plans on this page are data plans. Calls and SMS are separate, so keep your home number available for account verification.
Can I install Yesim before I fly?
Yes. Yesim advises installing before the trip and activating when you need it. Validity starts when the eSIM connects.
