Read the package, not just the destination
Open the China product page and check the selected data allowance and number of days. The displayed currency can follow your location or preferences, so verify the final amount before payment. A regional Asia plan is a different product with its own coverage list.
A five-minute package audit
Before checkout, make a short note of the package name, allowance, validity and activation trigger. Add the listed network and any fair-use or hotspot rules. This gives you something specific to compare if you later ask support for help.
Read the coverage list if you are choosing a regional product. “Asia” describes a collection of destinations, not every country in the region. Make sure every part of your route appears in the actual list.

Coverage and routing are different things.
A travel eSIM can use a Chinese carrier’s signal while routing data overseas. Airalo describes this for its China eSIM. Check the exact provider and package; it is not a property of every eSIM.

If data does not connect on arrival
- Check whether your package has started and still has an allowance.
- Check that the correct eSIM is selected for mobile data.
- Follow the provider’s roaming and setup instructions for that package.
- Use the official support channel with your order reference and device model.
Avoid deleting the eSIM while troubleshooting unless the provider tells you to: reinstall conditions differ. Save the instructions while you still have Wi-Fi.
What Airalo says about app access
The provider describes international routing for its China, regional Asia and global eSIMs. That is a provider statement, not an independent on-site test by NihaoReady. Review the current explanation in Airalo China help ↗.
Account-based and country-based restrictions from individual apps may still apply. Keep offline copies of documents you cannot afford to lose access to.
